The Children's Center of Cicero Berwyn
Early Head Start Director
My name is Bina Habibi and I am the director of birth-to-five programs at The Children’s Center of Cicero * Berwyn, a non- profit organization serving Cicero, Berwyn, and other neighboring communities during the past 14 years. In that capacity, I have been coordinating and implementing Early Head Start home visiting program for the past nine years. In addition, I serve as a scorer/consultant at the National Luis University for Aims4Excellence modules. Areas that I am passionate about in early childhood are home visiting, teaching, professional development, leadership, developing high functioning teams, assessment, coaching and training. Moreover, few of my prior works include teaching as an adjunct faculty at the Northeastern Illinois University; developing kindergarten readiness summer program; coordinating disability services for young children; organizing assessment for Early Reading First project at NEIU; co-authoring and authoring grants; volunteer reviewing state block grant applications, and presenting at conferences on thesis research, home visiting, leadership, and other topics related to early childhood.
I hold a Doctor of Education in Ethical Leadership, from Olivet Nazarene University.  Striving for a well- rounded educational background; I completed an MA in Early Childhood Special Education, NEIU; MEd in Curriculum & Instruction, Annamalai University, India; and an MA in Child Development, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, India.  In addition, I hold an Illinois Professional License in Early Childhood, the National Director Credential from McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership; Leadership program for directors Taking Charge of Change (TCC); the Non-profit Executive Education Certificate from Notre Dame and the John Maxwell Team Certified Trainer, Speaker, and Coach.
Co-presenting doctoral thesis research project at the NAEYC annual conference 2017, on leadership at Sharing a vision conference 2017, on Assessment at the Illinois Head Start Association 2008, photo documentation poster at the NAEYC 2007, and Early Literacy activities and assessment at the ACEI 2007 gives me inherent joy. I presented on “Home Visiting Essentials” at the Illinois Head Start Association Annual Conference in Normal Bloomington 2019 helped add value to early childhood educators. Delivering professional development through trainings, coaching, masterminds etc. gives innate significance as these enable me to add value to the educators. Likewise, I feel good about a  of the yearlong nutrition project that I lead on behalf of my team that was featured on the state platform for exemplary mealtime practices.
Finally, I have been married for 22 years and have a supportive, loving spouse and a beautiful daughter who is stepping as a senior in college. I take pleasure in reading, cooking, meditation, personal development, and traveling.
